Basic Purpose Of The Job
This position is responsible for soliciting clients and encouraging HIV testing. This individual will conduct community outreach services utilizing various techniques. Furthermore, the intent is to provide innovation so that clients will be interested and want to inquire, as well as, spread the word of the service that can be offered. This individual will remain visible to the campus and provide services to various departments.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree and/or Associates degree in Mental Health with relevant experience with HIV/AIDS
Two years (2) experience in the mental health field and/or experience with patients and families impacted by the HIV virus
Ability to work effectively with a health care team
Ability to organize caseload and set priorities appropriately.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality to ensure respect, justice, and integrity.
Knowledgeable in the area of HIV/AIDS
Ability to access and utilize appropriate community agencies and resource systems on patients behalf
Ability to work under pressure
Ability to maintain and continuously improve quality of work
Ability to express sensitivity toward the health and social needs of all clients
