Purpose

The Nurse Manager of the Telemetry Units at Bon Secours hospital assumes 24-hour responsibility for the overall assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care on the unit. This position carries out the BSHSI mission, vision and values while overseeing patient care, customer service, performance improvement and budgetary responsibilities on assigned patient units. Consistently promotes a professional image of nursing at Bon Secours Hospital. This position reports to the Director of Nurses. This position is accountable to the Vice President, Patient Care Services/Chief Nursing Officer and the Director of Nurses.

Education/Experience/Skills/Licensure

- Must have a strong patient-centric focus and excellent interpersonal skills that support a “Relationship-Based Professional Practice Model”
- Must posses advanced computer skills – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and ability to learn Visio software
- Valid Maryland Registered Nursing license
- ACLS
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Must have Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. Master’s Degree in nursing or a related field preferred
- Minimum 3 years recent acute care experience
- At least 2 years of successful supervisory/management experience in an acute care setting
- Working knowledge about Joint Commission, state and federal requirements
- Experience supporting and demonstrating standards of nursing practice and care and use of evidence-based practice
- Management experience within a shared governance setting desirable
