Shift: Day, Evening
Hours: M-F; 8-10 hrs/shift
Job Details:
POSITION SUMMARY: Provides for continuity of patient care and serves as a patient advocate. Provides Physicians with a resource person and advocate. Provides staff with resources, support, and education. Adheres to BSSHI Rules, Regulations, and Policies. Responsible for coordinating the day-to-day activities of the OR pertaining to the daily OR schedule.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
Education: Graduated from an accredited School of Nursing.
Experience: Minimum of three years OR experience. Ability to motivate co-workers is essential, as well as to communicate effectively with staff members and Physicians. Ability to schedule and oversee the precepting of students and new staff in specialty areas. Ability to present in-service programs and updates for staff development. Demonstrated managerial/leadership skills. Previous OR management experience is preferred.
Licensure, Registration, or Certification: Current licensure with South Carolina Board of Nurse Examiners. BLS required, ACLS (preferred), CNOR required (or obtained within six months of appointment). AORN membership required.
