POSITION SUMMARY
The primary responsibilities of this position are to support the overall use of technological components within the Enterprise Data Center (EDC). This is inclusive of on-going hardware maintenance of personal computing hardware, network, electronics, network cable plant and network software within the EDC. Assist the Technical Support staff with evaluating new technologies and provides input to the Sr. System Engineer on the risk and possible procurement of new technologies for the department.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required Qualifications
• Work requires a professional level of knowledge of I/S technological systems at a level generally acquired through completion of a minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science.
• Work requires the ability to interpret and execute Bon Secours Health System policies, procedures for installation and deployment of personal computers, Windows O/S software, understanding of file server deployment/management, understanding of network electronics, network management software, cable plant management, cable plant installation and data telecommunications concepts normally acquired in a minimum of two (2) and up to three (3) years of progressive work experience.
• Work requires a logical analytical ability due to technical complexity of problems encountered to review or conduct a variety of studies and reports to determine appropriate recommendations on technological issues. Requires skills to direct and organize a component of the I/S Department requiring 24-hour, seven day a week availability of Technology Team staff.
• Work requires substantial interpersonal skills necessary to deal successfully with a cross section of internal customers and external vendors.
• At least two (2) years of experience installing and maintaining Windows Operating System and MSCNE.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, email, intranet, internet, HRIS/payroll and other systems.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Data Center Environment is preferred inclusive of generators, PS's and PDU's
